In a troubling incident that underscores the vulnerability of artists in their private lives, L.A.-based rapper Blxst suffered a break-in at his Encino home while he was engaged in a cross-country album promotion. The home invasion, occurring in the wee hours of July 16, was particularly harrowing as the rapper's children were inside the residence at the time. According to a KTLA report, authorities confirmed that the invasion took place, and surveillance footage shows three individuals breaching a glass door to gain entry.
Blxst, who was celebrating the release of his album "I'll Always Come Find You", elsewhere, learned of the invasion through a disturbing FaceTime call from his son, who alerted him to the intruders at 4 a.m. In a starkly candid Instagram post detailed by NBC Los Angeles, the rapper expressed his distress and feeling of helplessness, stating, "Imagine being across the country away from my family during one of the heights of my career & waking up to my son face timing at 4 am saying 'I think bad guys are in the house'." Evidently, despite career highs, artists are not immune to crime impacting their personal spheres.
The Los Angeles Police Department, as reported by CBS Los Angeles, has yet to make any arrests in conjunction with the burglary which took place in the 16000 block of Morrison Avenue. Furthermore, it remains unclear what, if any, belongings were taken from Blxst's home during the incident. Notably, no injuries were reported in the aftermath of the dreadful event.
"Words can't express the frustration & the emptiness in my heart and soul not being able to be there to protect my boys," Blxst conveyed in his post, highlighting the emotional toll extracted, when those most cherished are endangered.
