During a late Thursday night incident, Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department teams faced flames to save a bedridden woman and a dog from an apartment fire at Park Place Apartments on North Maple Street. The fire began after the festivities of July 4th had concluded, as reported by WSMV.

All other residents of the affected apartment and the two neighboring units managed to escape without assistance however, the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department stated the primary apartment was significantly damaged and, therefore unsuitable for future occupancy, the residents were fortunate to have kin nearby to lodge with. According to FOX17, firefighters also contained the fire to prevent it from spreading further, ensuring minimal impact on adjacent units, which suffered some degree of smoke damage but remained habitable.

Investigations into the cause of the fire were set in motion by the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department and Marshal’s Office, with no immediate determination of the incident's source. The local chapter of the American Red Cross, as highlighted by WGNS Radio, provided volunteers to aid those affected by the fire, offering immediate support to the rattled residents.

Despite the chaos, injuries were astonishingly not reported in the aftermath of the blaze.
