A carjacking incident in Colma led to the arrest of a San Francisco resident last night. According to the Colma Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Serra Center parking lot at about 7:45 PM following the report of a carjacking involving a firearm. The victim reported to officers on site that a male suspect had brandished a weapon and forcibly taken their vehicle.
The description and details of the stolen vehicle were promptly shared with surrounding law enforcement agencies, leading to a quick location of the car by the San Mateo County Gang Task Force. In a coordinated effort, they performed a high-risk felony stop, detaining the driver alone in the vehicle without incident. Upon searching the vehicle, authorities found the weapon used in the crime, which, after a check, turned out to be stolen from the Reno Police Department.
The suspect was later identified positively by the victim as the perpetrator of the carjacking. During the arrest procedure, officers discovered prescription medications not prescribed to the detainee on his person. Nehemiah Jacques, 20 years old, faces multiple charges, according to the Colma Police Department's Facebook post, including carjacking, possession of a stolen vehicle, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. Jacques was booked into the San Mateo County Jail following his arrest.
