In an operation that transpired in the late hours of darkness, California Highway Patrol officers in San Francisco arrested two men after a traffic stop on the I-80 revealed an assemblage of firearms and ammunition. According to the CHP San Francisco, the incident occurred just past midnight when a Chrysler 300 sedan was pulled over for a vehicular infraction as it crossed the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge.
The routine stop swiftly escalated after officers spotted a concealed weapon on the driver, which led to the tactical detention of the car's two male occupants, unearthing more than was initially visible—a cache of loaded firearms, additional handguns, and high-capacity magazines, all found tucked away in the vehicle.
It emerged that the driver of the vehicle is a previously convicted felon, while both he and the passenger hail from Sacramento, CA. Their names have not been disclosed, and further investigation is pending. They were subsequently charged and booked into county jail on multiple charges stemming from the assortment of weapons found during the engagement with law enforcement.
