Scottsdale drivers, brace yourselves for some night-time construction inconveniences, but with the silver lining of smoother roads ahead. According to a recent announcement by the City of Scottsdale, a micro seal surface treatment project is being rolled out along Scottsdale Rd. The scheduled completion date is just around the corner on July 19, with crews actively working the stretch between Indian Bend Rd. and Gold Dust Ave. from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. during the Monday through Friday grind.
The promise of this paving project, while temporarily a source of nighttime noise, is a smoother and safer ride for commuters. Keeping one travel lane open in each direction, the city assures that business access will not be hampered by the construction, as per the City of Scottsdale. The touch of enhancements will also see the finished roadway maintaining its existing configuration – three travel lanes north and southbound – and preserving the current turn bays for the city's travelers.
Lest we overlook, the city reminds us this project is a stitch in the larger tapestry of the pavement preservation program aimed at rejuvenating worn streets and alleys throughout Scottsdale. Also, when driving next to construction sites, please remember that the city encourages travelers to drive with heightened care, making sure the safety of workers and fellow commuters is everyone's top priority. Questions or concerns can be aired out with a simple call to the project hotline at 480-532-5588.
