The Miami-Dade Police Department has initiated a search for Gerardo Jesus Lopez, a 78-year-old man reported missing from a Northwest Miami-Dade assisted living facility. Last seen on Sunday, July 7 at approximately 8 a.m. in the 400 block of Northwest 118th Street, Mr. Lopez's absence raises concerns about his well-being. Described as standing 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing around 130 pounds, with gray, partially balding hair and brown eyes, he was last wearing a brown shirt, shorts, and sneakers, according to WSVN report.
The community members are actively encouraged to contribute any relevant details that could assist in locating the elderly man. The concern for his safety is evident, as elderly individuals like Mr. Lopez are often vulnerable when they are separated from their accustomed care environments. The Miami-Dade Police have not specified the nature of the "services" Mr. Lopez might require, as reported by Local 10, but this underscores the urgency of finding him promptly.
With the community's eyes and ears open, it is hoped that Mr. Lopez will be found safe and swiftly. The Miami-Dade Police have provided contact information for those who may know something about his current location. Those wearing a brown shirt, brown short, and sneakers can reach Detective M. Eloi of the Miami-Dade Police Department's Special Victims Bureau/Missing Persons Squad at (305) 715-3300 or, to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (8477).
