In a move to spread knowledge on fire hazards, the former Washington state fire instructor and EMT brings a unique set of skills tailored for this educational role.
After moving to Memphis in 2020, Pereira quickly rose through the ranks of the Memphis Fire Department and recently earned his paramedic certification from Dyersburg State Community College. He plans to continue to actively save lives and educate on fire safety simultaneously, maintaining his position with the Memphis Fire Department alongside his new role. He looks forward to "engaging with the community and students to share fire safety education," he told Collierville's official news outlet.
