A schedule released by the department details the scope of the work, which includes enhancing ditches, storm drainpipe replacements, and full-depth repairs aimed at rejuvenating failing sections of the pavement. As outlined in a recent announcement, a tentative timetable indicates that weekly lane closures will occur from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., commencing July 8 and spanning across periods designated for the array of construction activities.
The first two phases of the project, taking place between July 8-19, will see single-lane closures for ditch and storm drain work. Traffic will be maintained, but delays are anticipated, especially during peak hours. It suggests that drivers should seek alternative routes to avoid the construction area. Both lanes will resume regular traffic flow after 4:00 p.m. on these days. Travelers are encouraged to remain vigilant for altered traffic patterns, heavy machinery, and the presence of workers.
The most disruptive phase involves a complete, around-the-clock closure scheduled from July 22 through July 26, as crews tackle full depth repairs. No traffic will be allowed through the section during these dates, necessitating the use of detours. Work will resume under single-lane closures from July 29 to August 2 to finalize any pending tasks. Despite the hopeful deadline of August 2 at 4:00 p.m. for project completion, the department indicates that the timeline might adjust depending on weather and unforeseen conditions.
