Get ready to mark your calendars for some free tunes among the trees this August. The Dakota County Historical Society is set to bring back its family-friendly Concerts in the Orchard series at the LeDuc Historic Estate, with a nod to local support thanks to Merchants Bank.
Every Sunday at 6:30 p.m., the picturesque apple orchards at the LeDuc Estate will become an enclave for music lovers. The events are not only a chance to soak up some live performances but to also give back as donations are welcomed to directly support the historic site's operations. A reminder goes out to attendees to bring along a chair or a blanket to comfortably enjoy the evening under the canopy of fruit-laden branches.
For those looking to indulge, nonprofit groups will also be there to sell pie, with all proceeds from their sales pouring back into the nonprofit's coffers. It's a convergence of community and history—all set to the soundtrack of local bands—according to the Dakota County Historical Society's announcement.
The concert line-up boasts a variety of sounds, from the old-time vibes of The Squires on August 4 to the classic country tunes of Darlene and the Boys on August 18. The series will wrap up on August 25 with the bluegrass strains of the Double Down Daredevils. Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to come out and take part in this unique experience nestled within the historic precincts of Hastings, located at 1629 Vermillion St. For any further inquiries, the LeDuc Estate is reachable at 651-438-8480.
For those on the lookout for some leisurely Sunday evening entertainment or just to simply relish a slice of pie in good company, the Concerts in the Orchard series promises to provide an ambient setting to wind down the week.
