Last Saturday, the South San Francisco Police Department conducted an operation that led to the arrest of two individuals on multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance and a stolen firearm. According to a statement on the department's official social media page, Officer Swann, part of the Field Training Program, initiated the investigation after spotting a suspicious vehicle and its occupants at a local business on the 300 block of East Grand Avenue. Law enforcement later approached the suspects in a neighborhood at Arroyo Drive and Camaritas Avenue.
The individuals, identified as Jose Puentes, a 26-year-old from Fairfield, and Noah Hunt, a 20-year-old resident of South San Francisco, were found inside the vehicle. Hunt was discovered to be carrying a loaded Smith and Wesson handgun, which had been reported as stolen. Moreover, Hunt was out on bail from an earlier gun arrest in San Francisco County at the time of this incident. The police report mentioned that both men were in possession of narcotics. However, the specific substances were not disclosed in the department's post.
Hunt faced multiple allegations related to firearms and drug offenses and was taken into San Mateo County Jail. Puentes, on the other hand, was arrested on drug-related charges but released with a Notice to Appear. Acknowledgment was given to Officer Swann and the so-called 'Grave B team' for their diligence in maintaining the community's safety, as noted in the police statement. The local authorities continue to emphasize the importance of such operations to deter crime and uphold public order.
The South San Francisco Police Department's communication underscored the team effort in the intervention but did not provide specific details on the narcotics found.
