Sultan's Kebab Grows to Six Bay Area Spots With Concord and Saratoga

Sultan's Kebab is expanding again, this time planting flags in downtown Concord and Saratoga's historic Village district. The Bay Area Mediterranean and Turkish chain, known for its halal, charcoal-grilled kebabs, plans to open at 2151 Salvio Street in Concord and at 14554 Big Basin Way, Unit A, in Saratoga, pushing the company to six total locations.

Both new restaurants will serve Sultan's Kebab's full halal menu and offer dine-in and catering, according to WhatNow, which first reported the expansion. Owner Fatih Ulas said the company wants to continue expanding its brand and bringing Mediterranean cuisine to more Bay Area communities, per the same report. The menu spans Turkish-style kebabs made with lamb, chicken, beef, shawarma, kofte, adana kebab, salmon, prawns, falafel, and grilled vegetables, served with fresh bread, rice, or garlic feta fries, alongside rice bowls, wraps, mezze, shawarma salads, and baklava.

The Concord location will take over the space in Salvio Pacheco Square that most recently housed Lima, an elevated Peruvian restaurant that East Bay native and former Las Vegas chef John Marquez opened in November 2016, according to Berkeleyside. The site sits directly across from Todos Santos Plaza, the civic gathering space that hosts Concord's 31-year-old Music & Market summer series, with weekly Thursday farmers markets and outdoor concerts running from June through September, according to Visit Concord. Sultan's Kebab's Concord outpost will include a patio and is expected to open in two to three months, per WhatNow's reporting.

A Downtown Corridor With Recent Turnover

The new kebab shop arrives in a stretch of downtown Concord that has seen real turbulence. The commercial district around Todos Santos Plaza experienced at least five restaurant closures along Salvio Street between 2025 and mid-2026, including Cinnaholic and Fire Wings, according to Red Oak Realty. Even so, the plaza's civic draw and steady event foot traffic could give a fast-service, halal quick-casual concept like Sultan's Kebab an opening that sit-down restaurants in the same corridor haven't found.

In Saratoga, Sultan's Kebab is moving into the former home of Mangia Mornings, a local cafe known for freshly baked goods and breakfast dishes in the historic downtown Village district along Big Basin Way. Before closing, Mangia Mornings had passed its most recent health inspection with a score of 95 from the Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health on February 25. The Saratoga location is described as opening soon, though WhatNow's report did not specify an exact date.

Rapid Growth From a Pleasanton Original

Sultan's Kebab traces its history to 2002 and continues the legacy of the late Sultan Ulas, with Fatih Ulas's father having inspired the restaurant's focus on Turkish kebabs and mezze, per WhatNow. The chain's original location remains in Pleasanton at 6654 Koll Center Parkway, from which it later expanded to 480 San Ramon Valley Blvd in Danville and 2491 First Street in Livermore. Today the company operates in Danville, Livermore, Campbell, and Pleasanton, and adding Concord and Saratoga will bring it to six locations, a 50 percent jump in its Bay Area footprint within 2026 alone.

That growth follows the chain's fourth Bay Area location, which opened in downtown Campbell earlier this year. Hoodline previously reported on that expansion when Sultan's Kebab applied for a liquor license to take over the former Mo's Breakfast + Burger Joint space at 278 E. Campbell Ave. Head Chef Mahmut Seyhan, who spent more than a decade as head chef at the original Pleasanton restaurant, joined Ulas and Murat Edis as a business partner for that Campbell buildout, according to WhatNow's earlier reporting. Seyhan is also a partner at Bodrum Turkish Restaurant in Dublin.

Ulas's presence in Bay Area dining extends beyond the kebab chain. He also co-owns Elia, an upscale Greek Mediterranean concept with locations in Pleasanton, Walnut Creek, and San Carlos, where it opened on Laurel Street in late 2024, according to the San Carlos Life. Once the Concord and Saratoga locations open, both will operate daily from 10 AM to 10 PM, matching the hours at Sultan's Kebab's existing restaurants.
