A fatal stabbing has left one man dead in the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood of Southeast Portland. The incident occurred early this morning, just after 12:30 a.m., when East Precinct officers were dispatched to the junction of Southeast 136th Avenue and Southeast Clinton Street following reports of a stabbing, as the Portland Police Bureau reported.
Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found a male victim with grave injuries, he was promptly transported to an area hospital but ultimately succumbed to his wounds, the suspect is currently in custody pending further investigation. The Portland Police Bureau's Homicide detectives have taken charge of the ensuing inquiry.
