Last Friday in Stockton, a vehicle was reported stolen, recovered, and then stolen again the next day from a secure tow yard in Hayward. The suspect, Jaizekiel Kumar, an Alameda County probationer, was soon spotted by a San Mateo Police Department officer. After a brief chase, Kumar was forced to abandon the pursuit near Belmont due to his reckless driving, as per the San Mateo Police Department.

Using GPS technology, officers located the stolen vehicle parked on the 200 block of 24th Ave. Kumar attempted to flee on foot through backyards in a residential area, but the police quickly set up a perimeter.

Kumar was eventually caught at Beresford Park. He initially gave a false name but was identified and arrested. He now faces charges for vehicle theft, unauthorized use of another person’s identity, and evading a peace officer.
