A suspect was killed following at least two home break-ins and a subsequent standoff in the Mid City area of Los Angeles, according to authorities. The Los Angeles Police Department received reports of home invasion burglaries around 3:30 a.m. on the 2600 block of Halm Avenue. As reported by NBC Los Angeles, three individuals were arrested at the scene, while a fourth suspect barricaded themselves inside one of the homes and allegedly attempted to set the property on fire, with the flames quickly extinguished.

An armored SWAT vehicle was dispatched to aid in managing the situation. One of the individuals inside the residence was fatally shot by police, although the circumstances leading up to the shooting have not yet been made clear. No officers were reported injured in the incident. KTLA captured footage of an armored LAPD vehicle outside the home.
