According to the California Highway Patrol, a high-speed chase in Oakland on July 20 ended with the arrest of suspects. The chase began at 6:40 p.m. when a stolen vehicle was spotted speeding on San Leandro Boulevard. The driver fled, leading officers on a pursuit that ended near 79th Avenue and Rudsdale Street, as per CHP Oakland.
After the high-speed chase ended, the five occupants of the vehicle tried to flee on foot but were all detained by the CHP. A search revealed one passenger had a loaded handgun. The driver, a 15-year-old male, faces serious charges, including felony evading and theft.
A 19-year-old female passenger was also arrested for carrying a loaded firearm in public and possessing an unregistered firearm.
