
Tragedy struck on a Memphis highway late Sunday night when a multi-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a teenager and injuries to five others. The incident, which unfolded at approximately 11:17 p.m. on Highway 385 westbound near Ridgeway Road, involved three cars and prompted a response from Memphis Police. According to WREG, a 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The chain-reaction crash began when a Kia Forte reportedly struck a Chevrolet Camaro, causing the latter to spin out. Subsequently, the Kia Forte flipped, impacting a Nissan Altima and a concrete median. Among the survivors, officials indicate that two adults are receiving care in critical condition, while another three individuals – including a 17-year-old and two adults – are being treated for non-critical injuries. The concerted efforts of first responders provided essential aid as those hurt were dispatched to various hospitals. Local Memphis notes the swift transport and attendance to the wounded parties.
Highway 385’s lanes were not reopened until roughly 3 a.m. yesterday.
