Memphis Police Department detained three teenagers following a vehicular and foot pursuit in Parkway Village. The chase began when officers, informed of a stolen vehicle in the vicinity of Mendenhall and Fox Plaza around 6:40 pm, located the car at Mendenhall and Knight Arnold. According to the news outlet, the teenage suspects attempted to evade the police, but an officer was able to successfully deploy stop sticks, resulting in multiple flat tires, as reported by WREG.
Following the deployment of the stop sticks, officers engaged in a low-speed chase that ended at Knightway and Aloha. While the suspect vehicle, left to roll, collided with an unoccupied patrol car, four suspects fled on foot, as per Action News 5. Despite the suspects' attempts to escape, police managed to apprehend three of the four teenagers.
The fourth suspect remains at large after the incident. The police efforts to secure the teens unfolded rapidly, with the vehicle pursuit smoothly transitioning into a foot race, as FOX13 Memphis described. The suspects' vehicle notably continued to roll after its occupants bailed from it, striking an empty police cruiser.
