Two individuals have been arrested after a police pursuit in Memphis, following a collision involving a stolen vehicle and a patrol car. The incident, which unfolded on the afternoon of July 4th, began when officers spotted a stolen orange Dodge Charger at the intersection of Cottonwood Road and Clark Road. The authorities confirmed that the car, reported as stolen, instigated the chase by ramming into an MPD cruiser before fleeing the scene.
According to WREG, a chase ensued immediately afterward, with the stolen vehicle leading police on a dangerous pursuit through the streets of the Fox Meadows area. The brief but heated chase terminated near Tchulahoma Road and East Raines Road where the police managed to apprehend the two suspects, a sequence of events detailed by police spokespeople.
As detailed in a report by FOX13 Memphis, the stolen Dodge Charger had a violent encounter with the law enforcement vehicle before initiating the pursuit. "The Charger struck a police car, then drove off, with police chasing after stolen car," said the Memphis Police Department.
The identities of the suspects remain undisclosed at the time of arrest. Local Memphis disclosed "Officers with the Memphis Police Department saw a stolen orange Dodge Charger just before 3:30 p.m. in the area of Cottonwood Road and Clarke Road."
