This summer just hit the jackpot with Washington County Parks announcing its 2022 Summer Concert Series. A family-friendly duo of concerts are set to serenade music lovers at the C-Ramp Recreation Area at Hagg Lake, known for its scenic views as much as for attracting Northwest musical talent. The series opens with Nate Botsford's country rock hybrid sound on Saturday, July 13, and will be followed by an electric performance from Rockit Radio, who are bringing their high-energy party rock on Saturday, August 3. Both gigs kick off at 7 p.m., as stated in an announcement from Washington County Parks.
Befitting an evening of live music, Centro Cultural's "Las Mariposas Folklóricas" are slated to open the stage for both nights at 6:15 p.m., with a lead-in to the headlining acts. Not to be outdone by the adult's amusements, Forest Grove Parks & Rec will be providing so children can also have their fair share of fun. Amidst the melodies, a spread of food & beverage vendors will be open for business starting at 5 p.m.
Washington County Parks kindly requests that tents and other view-obstructing gear stay at home. Picnicking is actively encouraged, but if you'd rather not carry the basket, options like Ochoa's Mexican Food and Franko's Hot Dogs will be at your service, the announcement added.
Remember the events are free, though your vehicle will need to snatch up a parking pass. The Parks Department urges that dogs, should they attend, remain leashed. In an era where safety is synonymous with pleasure, water safety guidelines and a firm "no fireworks" rule are also part of the package, especially considering the dry summer conditions and the encompassing forest land.
For those unacquainted with Henry Hagg Lake and the expanses of Scoggins Valley Park, the park boasts 2,500 acres of nature's best, including fishing, boating, plus an 18-hole disc golf course for the athletically inclined. Trailblazers are welcome to the over 14 miles of multi-use trails for a pre-concert hike or a post-show cooldown, detailed further in the official announcement. Basically, clear your calendars for July 13 and August 3.
