A 12-year-old boy was shot late Monday night in Chicago's South Side, specifically within the confines of a residence located in the North Kenwood neighborhood. According to information provided by The Chicago Tribune, the incident occurred shortly after 10:05 p.m. in the 4500 block of South Drexel Boulevard. The boy was wounded by a known assailant, reportedly inside the residence when the shooter produced a weapon and proceeded to open fire before making a swift exit from the scene.
The young victim sustained injuries inclusive of gunshot wounds to his chest, abdomen, and right arm. Despite suffering multiple injuries, he was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital where his condition was listed as good, as reported by WGN-TV.
Area One detectives are on the case, with no arrests made at the time this information was disclosed, as per WGN-TV.
