Early this morning, a shooting occurred at the intersection of Vesta St and Dalbergia St in the Barrio Logan neighborhood, which injured a 20-year-old woman. According to the San Diego Police Department Watch Commander's Log, the incident happened at about 3:07 AM when an unidentified male approached the victim and opened fire without any prior conversation or confrontation.
The victim, who was standing on the street at the time of the assault, suffered a gunshot wound to her right forearm. The gunman described as a male wearing all-black clothing and a black mask managed to escape before the officers arrived at the scene. Police provided first aid to the victim while waiting for medical services to arrive, and she was subsequently transported to a local hospital. Her injuries were thankfully not life-threatening.
SDPD Central Division Investigations have handled the case and are currently handling the investigation. The suspect's motives and identity remain unknown, and authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward.
