A tragic accident occurred last Saturday on Pleasant Valley Road when a minivan collided with a City of Garland dump truck. Bessie Bell, age 99, of Murphy, Texas, was a passenger in the minivan and lost her life in the crash, the Garland Police Department revealed in a somber update.

The incident took place at approximately 12:45 pm on August 10, prompting an urgent response from Garland Police and paramedics. Authorities learned that the minivan failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic while turning left onto Firewheel Parkway, resulting in the collision. Witness accounts and surveillance video confirmed this sequence of events.

The Garland Police Department has not released the name of the minivan driver, who remains hospitalized. The condition of the driver is currently unknown.
