Details of the event remain scarce, but the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has stepped in to take the lead on the case. With the community on edge, residents have been left to grapple with the unfolding drama in what is typically a quiet neighborhood. "I've lived here for 17 years. Nothing has ever happened, and when I see all the cop cars and all the patrols, and I tried to pull back into the neighborhood, and all I see is people telling me I can't drive this way or this way," Jada McCollum said, in a statement obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta.
The investigation prompted a significant police presence, with units from different agencies descending on a home on Wesley Mill Drive, barricading the area well into the night.
