Early yesterday morning, residents of Alamo's 100 block of La Sonoma Way were victimized by a burglary that saw two vehicles stolen from their property. According to the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the incident around 1:40 am and launched a pursuit when the suspects fled with the stolen cars.
The chase wound its way to Concord, where, after a high-speed segment, law enforcement ceased their pursuit due to safety concerns. The response was quickly adapted when Sheriff's Office dispatch located one stolen vehicle in Bay Point and another abandoned in Orinda as the suspects attempted to evade on foot in a chase.
Coordination between local law enforcement agencies, including the Sheriff's Office, California Highway Patrol (CHP) air support, and police from Orinda, Lafayette, and Pittsburg, proved pivotal in capturing the suspects. Their collaborative efforts culminated in the arrest of all four suspects linked to the burglary.
Both seized vehicles were retrieved, along with the personal possessions they contained, and were returned to the rightful owner. Following substantial coordination efforts and the utilization of diverse resources, the four individuals in question now face multiple charges including burglary, felony evading and vehicle theft, they have been booked into the Martinez Detention Facility where they await further proceedings in their case.
