Antioch Police Investigate January Homicide After Coroner's Report, Suspect Still at LargeSource: Google Street View

Tragedy struck the Antioch community earlier this year, and the case has taken a significant turn. The Antioch Police Department has now ruled the January 7 incident, which left a 39-year-old male victim dead, as a homicide. The incident, which occurred on the 1900 block of D Street at 9:45 pm, initially sent shockwaves through the neighborhood.

According to a press release by the Antioch Police Department, the victim was assaulted and knocked unconscious, leading to his unfortunate passing later at a local hospital, despite the efforts of the responding officers who administered aid and quickly transported him to urgent care; since the tragic evening, detectives have worked tirelessly to piece together the events that led to the man's death.

It wasn't until the release of the coroner's report last Tuesday that authorities were able to determine the death as a homicide. As stated in the same press release, the Antioch PD Investigations Bureau is actively examining the evidence, including video surveillance. It is seeking additional witnesses to clarify this crime.

The Antioch PD calls for the public's assistance to help bring closure to this case, assuring that, based on their current evidence, there appears to be no further danger to the public relating to this incident as they believe it to be isolated. They are thoroughly investigating all the leads they have but still, the culprit remains at large.
