Early yesterday morning, Brentwood Police responded to a report of an armed robbery that took place on Sand Creek Road. According to the victim, he was held at gunpoint before the perpetrators fled in a black sedan. The crime was reported to the police, who deployed officers around 1 AM.
The suspects were not immediately apprehended on location but were soon spotted by Oakley PD in their jurisdiction. Attempts to peacefully stop the suspects' vehicle were met with a high-speed chase, which compelled the suspects to drive off quickly, ending only when their car crashed on Highway 160.
At the crash site, Brentwood officers confirmed the vehicle's match to the suspects' described sedan. A thorough search resulted in finding a loaded handgun and items reported stolen during the robbery. A statement from Brentwood police detailed the retrieval of the stolen property.
The two occupants of the wrecked car were detained, with 28-year-old Orey Douglas of Antioch being positively identified as the suspect. Following these events, Douglas was arrested and taken to the Martinez Detention Facility for booking.
