Panther Stadium, the home grounds for the Clark Atlanta Panthers, now sports a radiant new turf, a significant upgrade made possible by the foundation’s support.
The upgrade, which was completed just in time for the new season, was a major endeavor, with the foundation's grant totaling a substantial $6.5 million. The other institutions receiving this windfall include Albany State University, Miles College, and Savannah State University, causing a ripple effect of upgraded facilities across Georgia and Alabama HBCUs.
As per the announcement by the FOX5 Atlanta, Clark Atlanta University's field was completed in just over a week ago, marking a major upgrade for the stadium, which will see its first game on the new turf on September 7 against Allen University. A fresh face for the new season, the vibrant red field stands as a testament to the Blank family's commitment to community and sports.
Meanwhile, AMB Sports and Entertainment CEO Rich McKay expressed his pride in the initiative. "The positive impact of athletics is a driving force throughout our portfolio of businesses," McKay said, a statement consistent with the sentiment of significant community contributions through sports. He added, in a statement obtained by 11Alive, "We are honored to partner with LISC, the NFL Foundation and these universities to enhance the playing surfaces, with the shared goal of creating more opportunities for the students and surrounding communities alike."
