The Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT) has announced, a full road closure on Brentwood Drive NE between Brentwood Terrace NE and N Hills Drive NE. According to their press release, the road will be blocked off to traffic from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm to facilitate the removal of a tree that presumably poses a risk to public safety or obstructs municipal functions.
The ATLDOT has recommended several detour routes for affected traffic. Westbound drivers on Brentwood Dr NE should redirect via Brentwood Ter NE, Pine Tree Dr NE, and N Hills Dr NE, to get back onto Brentwood Dr NE. Eastbound motorists will need to follow the reverse path, turning left on N Hills Dr NE and right onto Pine Tree Dr NE. Southbound commuters on Lookout Place NE will be detoured through Delmont Dr NE, Grandview Ave NE, Pharr Rd NE, Piedmont Rd NE, and then making a right onto N Hills Dr NE to access Brentwood Dr NE, while southbound traffic on N Hills Dr NE should divert via Pine Tree Dr NE.
This road closure is likely to cause some inconvenience, especially during the peak hours when residents and visitors are commuting across the neighborhood. Nevertheless, the importance of public safety and infrastructure maintenance can't be understated. Local drivers and regular commuters are advised to plan ahead, allowing for extra travel time or avoiding the area entirely if possible.
Those with additional questions or concerns regarding the road closure are encouraged to reach out to the ATLDOT for more information. The department has actively provided a contact email, [email protected], and has detailed the closure and detours on their website for public reference. Keeping informed on the latest traffic advisories is essential in navigating unexpected changes to daily routes.
