As the weekend approaches, a weak front is projected to induce some instability in Central Texas, spiking the region's rain prospects heading into the Labor Day weekend. Despite a quiet commencement to Friday, rain chances are slated to increase post-1 p.m., with isolated to scattered showers expected across Central Texas. "While chances are up, we still only expect 30% of Central Texas to get measurable rain," as noted by KXAN.
Adjustments to the weather forecast suggest that Saturday may prove to be somewhat drier than was earlier anticipated, dropping rain chances from a previous 50% to 40%. However, higher chances of rain are slated to commence on Sunday—coinciding with higher chances pushing in on Labor Day Monday—as a cold front settles into the area.
"I’ve seen some signals that Saturday may be slightly drier than it had looked earlier this week," as per KXAN. This is promising news for those attending Texas' first football game of the season against Colorado State. Nearby showers may offer a reprieve from the heat, but base temperatures are projected to crest in the low 90s for those in attendance.
Labor Day's outlook features cloudy skies with a 60 percent chance of precipitation and a modest dip in temperatures, hovering around 88 degrees, as detailed by the National Weather Service. The incoming weather system is expected to linger, sustaining scattered showers and thunderstorms into the following week.
