An Illinois man has found himself suddenly flush with cash, after winning $3 million on a scratch-off lottery ticket, as per FOX32 Chicago. In an unexpected stroke of luck, the self-proclaimed 'King of Cash' bought the winning ticket from Bellwood Liquor and Grocery on St. Charles Road in Bellwood.
The anonymous winner was apparently so stunned upon discovering his windfall that he could scarcely believe his eyes. "I scratched off the ticket while I was still at the convenience store," he told the Illinois Lottery. "I thought I read the ticket wrong. I had the cashier verify it for me and he said 'Congratulations!'" The winner continued to describe his shock to FOX32 Chicago, revealing, "My heart was pounding and I immediately started to sweat. I couldn’t believe it!"
The winner's reaction was to quickly leave the scene of his life-changing moment, nearly forgetting his vehicle in the process. "I was in such a hurry, I ran out of the store and almost headed home, forgetting my truck in the parking lot!" he admitted in the same interview, as detailed by ABC7 Chicago. With his newfound wealth, "King of Cash" plans to pay off his mortgage and generously buy new cars for his family members.
