The Boston Police Department is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying an individual linked to a string of prowler incidents and a burglary in the Brighton area. According to the BPD's community alert, the latest episode occurred on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at about 9:23 PM near 17 Gerald Road. As the detectives from District D-14 investigate, they hope witnesses might come forward with valuable information.
Described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, thick gray gloves, light gray pants, and sneakers of black and gray with distinctive white soles and logo, the prowler has been a cause for concern recently. Noticed prowling again on Sunday, August 25, just shortly before the recent sighting, the suspect had been spotted at around 9:17 PM at 14 Radnor Road. In a related burglary, it was noted that the suspect was wearing a unique brown/red loose covering with eye slits, which makes identifying the perpetrator challenging for law enforcement.
In a concerted effort to crack these unsettling cases, the Boston Police Department has assured the community that they are "actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding these incidents." Anyone with even the slightest thread of information is being encouraged to contact District D-14 Detectives.
To aid the investigation while remaining anonymous, community members can reach out to the CrimeStoppers Tip Line by calling 1 (800) 494-TIPS or texting 'TIP' to CRIME (27463). The BPD emphasizes their commitment to protecting the identities of informants, stating "the Boston Police Department will stringently guard and protect the identities of all those who wish to help this investigation in an anonymous manner." This stance offers a veil of safety for those feeling hesitant about contributing their knowledge of the events or the individual involved.
