Brentwood Police have once again stopped organized retail crime with recent arrests connected to a grand theft at Ulta Beauty. According to the Brentwood Police Department, the incident unfolded yesterday evening when officers were alerted to a vehicle linked to a hefty theft exceeding $2,000 in merchandise a few days prior at the Streets of Brentwood shopping complex.
The officers quickly began to survey the area actively, and the search culminated when the on-duty sergeant successfully spotted the suspect vehicle outside a Safeway on Second Street. As two female suspects were looking to return to their vehicle subtly, they were instead abruptly taken into custody. The suspects were identified as the 19-year-old Izabela Ilie and an unnamed 16-year-old juvenile.
Investigations didn't end at the vehicle stop. The probe went deeper to uncover that both the Brentwood Safeway and the Safeway in Discovery Bay had also fallen victim to thefts by the duo. In a swiftly moving chain of events, Ilie was headed to the Martinez Detention Facility for the booking process while the juvenile was turned over to a guardian.
