To support local first responders, the foundation, alongside the Apple Valley Firehouse Subs restaurant, has provided $18,425 in funding, as per the Carver County Sheriff's Office. This grant is earmarked for acquiring critical dive gear for the county sheriff's dive team, which plays an essential role in search and recovery operations.
Acccording to a Facebook post by the Carver County Sheriff's Office, the new equipment includes five sets of crucial gear. Listed among the gear were buoyancy control devices, which allow divers not just to maintain their position in the water, but also to transport additional tools. Diving in cold or polluted waters, the dive team will also be better protected with new dry suits, crucial for their safety and effectiveness in recovery missions.
Dive teams often operate under challenging conditions, and having the correct equipment is not just a matter of efficiency, but of life and death.
