The Carver County Sheriff's Office has reason to feel a bit more secure in their underwater operations, thanks to a substantial grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. To support local first responders, the foundation, alongside the Apple Valley Firehouse Subs restaurant, has provided $18,425 in funding, as per the Carver County Sheriff's Office. This grant is earmarked for acquiring critical dive gear for the county sheriff's dive team, which plays an essential role in search and recovery operations.

Acccording to a Facebook post by the Carver County Sheriff's Office, the new equipment includes five sets of crucial gear. Listed among the gear were buoyancy control devices, which allow divers not just to maintain their position in the water, but also to transport additional tools. Diving in cold or polluted waters, the dive team will also be better protected with new dry suits, crucial for their safety and effectiveness in recovery missions.

Dive teams often operate under challenging conditions, and having the correct equipment is not just a matter of efficiency, but of life and death. "Having the proper tools is crucial to the safety of our first responders and community," the Sheriff's Office emphasized in their announcement. With these new resources, the team is better equipped to handle the complexities of underwater search and recovery, ensuring both the safety of the divers and those they are sent out to aid.
