A Macomb County man has been arrested and is facing serious felony charges for allegedly taking sexually explicit photos of a 7-year-old child, local enforcement officials reported. Shane Michael-Frank Werner, a 26-year-old from Chesterfield Township, was taken into custody this past Sunday.

Police received a call at 6:12 p.m. on Sunday, prompting officers to visit a home in Chesterfield Township where the incident allegedly took place. According to clickondetroit, the police did not face any issues arresting Werner. The suspected connection of the accused to the victim has not been disclosed, however, officials confirmed that he lived in the vicinity of where the alleged crime occurred.

Werner was arraigned in the 42-2 District Court in New Baltimore, where a bond was set at $100,000. He now faces multiple charges, including aggravated child sexually abusive activity, aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, and accosting children for immoral purposes. His next court date is set for September 4, as stated in a report by The Detroit News.

If convicted, Werner faces up to 25 years in prison for the most severe charge of aggravated child sexual abuse activity. The possession and accosting charges could add up to four years each to his sentence. Currently, there is no attorney listed for Werner in court records, and he remains lodged in Macomb County Jail, WWJ Newsradio reported.
