
A 21-year-old Chicago man, identified as Robert Lewis, has been charged in the high-profile murder case of 14-year-old RayJohn Harshaw, who was fatally shot last year in the city's Calumet Heights neighborhood. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Lewis is facing counts of first-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and armed robbery.
Details from the Chicago Police state that the incident transpired on the evening of Aug. 19, 2023, when Harshaw was shot in the 8700 block of South Cregier. The altercation also involved a robbery of the young boy’s possessions. The victim, later discovered with head and chest wounds, was pronounced dead after being transported to Comer Children's Hospital, as detailed by WGN-TV.
With the proceedings moving to the legal framework, Robert Lewis is expected to undergo a detention hearing scheduled for Friday, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times.
