According to a community alert issued by the Chicago Police, Two male suspects have been linked to multiple incidents, where they, outfitted in ski masks and wielding semi-automatic handguns, have approached victims demanding cellphones and wallets before fleeing in a dark blue Land Rover Discovery or a silver Kia Sportage.
The robberies took place in broad daylight and the dead of night alike, with incidents reported on the 2300 block of South Wentworth Ave and the 300 block of West 23rd St among other locations throughout August. In each encounter, the victims were threatened with lethal force, and their possessions were swiftly stolen. The series of robberies all occurred within a timeframe of minutes, suggesting a calculated and targeted string of actions by the offenders.
Descriptions of the perpetrators have been circulated: two male blacks, approximately 5'07" to 5'09" in height, thin build, dressed in black with ski masks to conceal their identities. Authorities are urging anyone who may have noticed individuals matching this description or any unique physical characteristics, such as scars or other distinguishing marks, to come forward. Civilians are advised against engaging with these armed individuals directly, emphasizing that personal safety should take precedence over material belongings.
