The Chicago Police Department has issued a public appeal for help in locating John E. Sweeney, a 58-year-old man reported missing since August 6, 2024. According to the CPD, Sweeney was last spotted on the 7700 block of S. Cicero Ave. He is described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds, with blue eyes and balding blonde hair. Notably, he has a tattoo on his left shoulder.
To assist the ongoing investigation, detectives from the Area One Division – Special Victims Unit are seeking information from the public and encourage anyone who might have seen Sweeney or knows his whereabouts, to step forward. Last seen, he was wearing a shirt that was grey or blue and blue jeans, as detailed by the CPD.
