A 17-year-old male juvenile has been charged with multiple felony counts, including armed robbery and vehicular hijacking, following a string of violent crimes that took place in late 2023. The police have specifically linked the juvenile to a range of violent incidents, including encounters that left several residents in fear for their lives. On December 1, a 33-year-old woman on the 3500 block of W. Hirsch became a victim, of a crime duplicated across the 1900 block of N. Harding and 3500 block of W. Lyndale St. with two more females, ages 30 and 22, targeted by the offender. The following day, a 42-year-old woman and an adult male were accosted on the 1900 block of N. Springfield. December 18 saw two additional armed robberies: one on the 2000 block of N. Lavergne victimizing a 45-year-old male and another on the 4500 block of W. Cortez St. involving a 25-year-old male.

At present, the Chicago Police Department has released no additional information regarding the circumstances of the arrest or any potential accomplices. The identity of the juvenile has not been disclosed to the public due to their minor status.
