A child is fighting for life following a serious collision in unincorporated McHenry, where their mini electric bike was struck by an SUV. The incident, which took place at the intersection of N Lake Street and West Pleasant View Drive on the morning of July 31, required emergency services to respond promptly at approximately 9:50 a.m. According to McHenry County Sheriff's Office, the child was riding a Razor MX350 when hit by a 2018 Toyota Highlander.

The victim received immediate medical attention and was airlifted to Loyola Medical Center with life-threatening injuries by LifeNet. As per the latest updates, the child’s condition remains critical. The driver of the Highlander was reported to have declined medical care at the scene.
