
In a troubling incident early Monday morning, a 9-year-old child was struck in a hit-and-run near Willow Oaks Elementary School in East Memphis. According to Action News 5, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) reported that responding officers found the child had been hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Willow and Cherry Roads, which is in close vicinity to the school.
The hit-and-run occurred at around 7:45 a.m., with the responsible vehicle having fled the scene before police arrived. Despite the urgency of the situation, the concerned child was treated on-site and, remarkably, did not necessitate hospital transportation, as confirmed by FOX13 Memphis. The MPD did not release details regarding the child's gender or the nature of their injuries.
