Gamers and gaming enthusiasts, get ready to mark your calendars. Clarksville's very own F2Con gaming convention is back for another year of high-stakes competition and virtual fun. From September 6-8, the Wilma Rudolph Event Center will transform into a digital playground for the city's only annual gaming event. Event organizers Visit Clarksville and their tech-savvy partners, CDE Lightband, are to ensure attendees experience the thrill of battle without the frustration of slow internet speeds.

F2CON is gearing up to offer an array of gaming tournaments boasting a collective prize pool of $10,000. Headliners include popular titles like Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, and Guilty Gear, as detailed by the City of Clarksville. But it's not all about the hardcore gaming—F2CON has also curated casual tournaments suitable for gamers of all ages, featuring family-friendly games such as Multiversus, Dragon Ball Z, Overcooked 2, and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2. And these aren't just for fun—there's something gratifying to potentially be won here too.

Beyond the tournaments, participants will find a host of vendors selling the latest gaming gear and merchandise, creating an all-around immersive gaming experience. For those looking to catch their breath between matches or simply soak in the atmosphere, open play stations will be available for anyone to enjoy.

Charlie Koon, the Chairman of Visit Clarksville's Board of Directors, conveyed his excitement about the event. "We are thrilled to partner with CDE again to host this fun event," he said. "The Visit Clarksville staff continues to work hard to find new and innovative events that will attract visitors to Clarksville for overnight stays and help boost our local economy." The significance of such events cannot to be understated, as they draw not just local gaming communities together, but also bring large economic benefits to the city. Visit Clarksville reported 43 sports events last year that attracted over 55,000 visitors with an estimated impact of $26 million spent in the local economy, according to the City's official website.

This event highlights Clarksville's commitment to embracing the world of e-sports and gaming as vital components of its cultural and economic landscape. As F2CON approaches, it seems clear that both gamers and the city are ready to level up and enjoy the manifold benefits such a gathering inevitably brings.
