
In a swift display of community spirit and efficacious engagement, the residents and visitors of Irving came together to locate a missing person who had quickly become the subject of local concern. The missing individual, Karolyn Melton, 69, was reported to have left the Las Colinas Medical Center on foot early in the morning, prompting the Irving Police Department to seek the public's assistance in finding her.
The call for aid was met with a rapid response, so much so that it was only a matter of hours before the missing woman was located. "Because of our awesome, helpful residents and visitors of Irving, our missing person was quickly found, and an immediate call to our dispatch center was made," the Irving Police Department expressed in gratitude. Following the successful recovery of Melton, the Irving Police discontinued the alerts.
Before Melton was found, the Irving Police had detailed that anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact them at (972) 273-1010, or directly dial 911 in the case of an immediate sighting. The police's outreach underscored the urgency and importance of community vigilance in instances of missing persons, reminding the public of the critical role they play in ensuring the safety of their neighbors.
