
The tragic case of Avery Norwood, who was found beaten and unconscious earlier in April, has now been reclassified as a homicide after the 34-year-old succumbed to his injuries. According to the Dallas Police Department, Dallas Police were called to the scene at 700 W. Mockingbird Lane on April 6, and upon their arrival at approximately 8:35 a.m., they discovered Norwood in critical condition. He was then rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
Despite every effort to recover, Norwood’s battle ended on Wednesday, officially prompting detectives to reassign the case to the Homicide Unit. The police have yet to publicly identify any suspects, and the investigation continues to unfold under case number 054020-2024. The Dallas community is now awaiting to possibly come forward with any knowledge that might shed light on this tragic incident.
