A soda delivery truck was engulfed in flames in the scorching terrains of Death Valley, marking the fourth vehicle fire within a little over a month. The incident occurred on Thursday along CA-190, near the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, as reported by FOX5 Vegas. Officials revealed that the truck was consumed by fire, but the driver managed to escape unscathed.
Investigators are looking into the cause of the blaze, with initial assessments pointing towards the failure of the truck's braking system. According to firefighters, as has been reported by 8 News Now, the intense desert heat likely contributed to overheating the vehicle's brakes, which is believed to have directly sparked the fire.
The response to Thursday's fire was a collaborative effort involving various agencies. Personnel from the National Park Service, Beatty Volunteer Fire Department, Caltrans, and the California Highway Patrol were on the scene to address the situation. Images captured from the incident show responders diligently working to cool down the remains of the burnt-out delivery vehicle.
