Last night, Boston's Youth Violence Strike Force officers arrested Antoiwane Hawkins-Davis, a 30-year-old Dorchester resident, on charges related to firearms and drugs, according to an official report from the Boston Police Department. The detainment occurred after police observed a vehicle with its headlights off at about 10:19 PM near Seaver Street and Blue Hill Avenue.
The traffic stop led to the discovery of a firearm and a sizeable quantity of crack cocaine. The officers decided to pull the vehicle over and engage in dialogue with the driver, Hawkins-Davis, who seemed cooperative until the inspection of the vehicle revealed a loaded Smith and Wesson SD9 with one round in the chamber and fifteen rounds in the magazine. Additionally, a bag containing 102 smaller bags of crack cocaine, weighing roughly 36 grams, was found discarded on the street.
The recovered items have prompted charges for Hawkins-Davis that include Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Second Offense and a slew of other firearm and narcotics-related offences, with the suspect's arraignment scheduled to take place at the Dorchester District Court, details of the incident have been confirmed by the Boston Police Department's official communication.
