
A serious collision occurred in Oak Cliff on Monday afternoon when a vehicle crashed into a Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) train and subsequently wrapped around a pole. The incident, which took place near South Lancaster Road and Ledbetter Drive, resulted in severe injuries to the driver of the car.
As reported by FOX4, the crash happened around 4 p.m. close to the VA hospital. Dramatic footage captured by SKY 4 shows the aftermath of the collision with the car mangled around a pole. Officials from Dallas Fire-Rescue had to extricate the driver, who was pinned inside his car, and he was urgently taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The condition of the man was still uncertain as of Tuesday, but DART confirmed that he remains alive and is in stable condition. Information regarding the well-being of any passengers aboard the train was not immediately clear, but no injuries have been reported from within the train thus far. In the wake of the collision, Blue Line passengers had to deal with some delays, according to details provided by Oak Cliff Advocate.
