The Eden Prairie Police Department (EPPD) is expanding its team, swearing in new blood with the addition of Isaac Martig to the force. Chief Matt Sackett led the ceremony, officiating the oath that welcomed Martig into the department's ranks, according to an EPPD blog post.
From local roots as a graduate of Chaska High School, Martig progressed to Hennepin Technical College, where he secured an associate’s degree in Peace Officer and Public Safety. Before earning his stripes as an official member of the force, he served part-time as a community service officer since August 2023, a path traced by 27 other current EPPD officers.
The introduction to active duty won't come instantaneously for Martig, as the next 3–4 months for him are reserved for intensive field training. This foundational period will precede his solo patrols. Embracing a new chapter, the EPPD pronounced their enthusiastic endorsement with a simple yet embracing statement: "Welcome Officer Martig!"
As Martig integrates into the Eden Prairie community's fabric further, public safety remains the steadfast pillar around which the EPPD continues to build its team. Officer Martig, together with his fellow officers, symbolizes a growing force entrusted with maintaining the equilibrium of justice and service in their community.
