The weekend is poised to continue the hot and sunny trend, with Saturday's high nearing 100 degrees. However, Saturday night may bring scattered showers and thunderstorms, primarily before midnight, with a 40 percent chance of precipitation.
Looking ahead to Sunday, there's a slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Continuing into the early part of next week, a consistent pattern of mostly sunny mornings followed by a potential for late afternoon showers is anticipated, each day carrying a roughly 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms. The highs will gradually decrease, from near 98 degrees on Sunday to about 94 degrees by next Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
