Thousands of women from El Paso and surrounding areas are expected to pack the 3,620-seat facility at Abundant Church East this week for the free three-day ONE Conference, running Wednesday through Friday under the theme “She Holds the Key.” The gathering promises nationally known speakers, nightly worship services, and what organizers describe as opportunities for women to grow in their faith and move confidently into their calling.
According to KVIA, the conference is presented by ONE Sisterhood and hosted by Shannon Nieman, who founded the movement and speaks at the event on Wednesday. Nieman also serves as a lead pastor at Abundant Church alongside her father, Charles, and her brother, Jared. The outlet also notes Nieman is preparing to publish a faith-focused memoir titled *Survival Mode*.
The conference's massive scale is possible thanks to the size of its host venue. Abundant Church East, located at 1000 Valley Crest Drive, hosts the gathering, according to MNK Architects. That capacity reflects the church's long institutional history in the Borderland region.
From a Railroad Union Hall to a Regional Megachurch
Abundant Church traces its roots to 1977. Accounts of its early history describe a 12-person home Bible study and, separately, gatherings in a local railroad union hall before growing into a non-denominational megachurch serving tens of thousands of regional parishioners, per Wikipedia. Co-founder Charles Nieman initially established the ministry with his late wife, Rochelle, before expanding across multiple regional campuses.
That expansion has continued in recent years. Abundant Church opened a $22 million, 89,000-square-foot West Side campus in May 2017 featuring a 1,900-seat theater auditorium, built to accommodate thousands of members commuting across town from West El Paso, according to KVIA. The church later added a Downtown El Paso worship campus in 2023.
A National Speaker Lineup for Each Conference Day
Wednesday's opening day features Nieman herself speaking to attendees. Thursday's keynote speaker is Bianca Juárez Olthoff, the lead pastor of Revere Church, who publicly shares her personal journey of overcoming illiteracy until age 12, according to Bethel Church. Olthoff's biography centers on that personal journey.
Friday's closing keynote belongs to Zai Chandler, senior pastor of Union Church in the Washington, D.C., area. The congregation was recognized by *Outreach Magazine* in 2020 as the fastest-growing church in the United States, according to a podcast interview posted by Marcylle Combs. The interview also says Chandler has nursing experience.
Nightly Worship With a Latin Grammy Nominee
Lucia Parker is identified as a collaborator on an Abundant Worship single, according to ONE Sisterhood. The listing identifies Parker on a live single.
This year's lineup is part of the annual ONE Conference, which has held previous editions in El Paso.
A Flagship Event for a Year-Round Ministry
ONE Sisterhood is identified as a women's ministry of Abundant Church and presents the ONE Conference, according to ONE Sisterhood.
Abundant Church's community footprint extends beyond conferences and worship services. The church also conducts community outreach, reflecting the volunteer networks it maintains across its regional campuses.
Registration for ONE Conference 2026 remains free, and attendees can sign up at theonesisterhood.com under the “Made For More” registration link, per KVIA's report. The conference emphasizes that women are called, purposed, and chosen, according to organizers, with worship services and special events rounding out the three-day schedule at Abundant Church East.
