Early Thursday morning, a massive three-alarm fire raged through a 10,000-square-foot warehouse in Montebello, prompting a strong response from fire crews and injuring one firefighter. The Montebello Fire Department received a report of the blaze at around 1 a.m. in the 800 block of Truck Way near West Olympic Boulevard, where flames and smoke were billowing from the structure upon their arrival. KTLA reported that despite the significant efforts of approximately 80 firefighters, one was injured during the incident but expected to be okay.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with officials yet to determine whether the fire was initiated from the inside or outside of the building. In an interview obtained by FOXLA, Public Information Officer Alex Gillman stated, "We are not aware of the ignition point..." and mentioned that investigators had yet to begin their probe into the warehouse's interior due to safety concerns for the firefighters. As a result of the fire, significant road closures affected the area around Greenwood Avenue near W. Olympic Boulevard.
